ROSHAL Aluminium Hydroxide
| Finely dispersed ROSHAL RN-AT aluminium hydroxide is an inorganic, water-insoluble white powder. The principle of its action in flame retardant compositions is based on the thermal decomposition of aluminium hydroxide into aluminium oxide and water (vapour). This endothermic reaction absorbs the energy of the combustion source, and the generated water vapour cools down the polymer surface and reduces the concentration of combustible gases. The remaining metal oxides have a high internal surface that can absorb soot particles, which makes aluminium hydroxide an effective smoke suppressor. The main areas for the application of finely dispersed aluminium hydroxide are thermosetting materials, PVC-based products, conveyor belts, paintwork materials, cast polyester and epoxy resins, fiberglass-reinforced compositions, as well as in household appliance cables. |
